Effective Date: April 4th, 2025
Last Updated: February 16th, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Sola Fide Technologies ("we", "us", "our") handles your information when you use the Path of Progress website and progressive web application ("Service").
We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and relevant Alberta privacy laws.
1. Scope and Consent
By using the Path of Progress website or application, you consent to the limited information collection and handling practices described in this Privacy Policy. The application is designed for use by parents and guardians who manage accounts for their children.
2. What We Collect
Website Visitors
When you visit the Path of Progress website, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage statistics (such as pages visited, time on site, and general geographic region). This data is collected only if you consent via the cookie banner shown on your first visit.
Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors. No personally identifiable information is collected, and IP addresses are anonymized. If you decline the cookie banner, no analytics cookies are set and no usage data is collected. We do not collect any other personal information from website visitors unless you voluntarily provide it (e.g., by signing up for an account or contacting us).
Account Holders
We collect limited personal information from the parent or guardian who creates the main account. This includes:
- Full name
- Email address
- Date of birth
- Login credentials (email/password or federated identity if supported)
We also collect family account-specific content, including:
- Child profile names (as entered by the parent; these may be real names, nicknames, or titles)
- Chore names and recurrence
- Coin and gem balances linked to child profiles
We do not collect any personal information directly from children, nor do we allow them to create or manage their own accounts.
3. How We Use This Information
We use the above information to:
- Create and authenticate the parent account
- Display and manage chore progress, rewards, and profiles
- Send necessary service-related notifications (e.g., password resets)
- Provide parental access to chore data and family dashboard features
- Analyze anonymous website traffic patterns to improve the site experience (only with visitor consent)
We do not use your personal information for marketing or advertising. Anonymous website analytics data (collected only with your consent) is used solely to improve the website experience and is not linked to any personal information.
4. Who Has Access
- All app data is accessible only to users logged into the same family account.
- We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your information to any third parties.
5. Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored securely in our managed backend.
- We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard data against unauthorized access or loss.
- However, no system is 100% secure, and we disclaim liability for data breaches or outages. Use of the Service is at your own risk.
6. Children's Privacy
Path of Progress is designed to be used under parental supervision only. The application is structured so that:
- Only parents or guardians can create accounts.
- Children interact only through profiles managed and monitored by parents.
- No personal data is collected directly from children.
We do not knowingly collect any information subject to child privacy laws (such as COPPA in the US), as we rely on parental control of all inputs.
7. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as needed to provide the Service's functionality. Parents may request that data be removed by contacting us directly.
8. Third-Party Services
The marketing website uses Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) only when a visitor has given explicit consent. Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data through cookies. Google's privacy policy can be found at policies.google.com/privacy.
No other third-party services are used for analytics, advertising, login, or data processing.
9. Managing Your Consent
You may manage your analytics consent at any time. If you accepted analytics cookies and wish to withdraw consent, clear your browser's local storage or cookies for pathofprogress.ca. On your next visit, the consent banner will appear again, allowing you to make a new choice.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page and within the application, and the "Last Updated" date will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the Service indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
